How many guests comfortably fit in The Barn
We can fit up to 300 guests depending on how the room is set.
Do I need to schedule a tour?
You may book the venue sight unseen. We can send pictures to help with this. If you prefer a tour please call 605-312-7964 for wedding tours and 605-312-7968 for a social/corporate events.
When are payments due?
The deposit in the amount of one half of the Rental Fee is due upon execution of the Agreement. The remaining balance is due to 90 days prior to the event.
What is the average cost of Blue Rock Catering?
An average catering budget with Blue Rock is generally $20-$25 per person. However, our menu has a wide range of price points to fit your budget.
Are there overnight accommodations nearby?
There are many hotel options in Sioux Falls but options include:
Holiday Inn 12 minute drive
The Sheraton 12 minute drive
Aero Stay 11 minute drive
Are tables and chairs included?
We have seating available for up to 250 guests. Any additional seating will be at the expense of guest renting the barn.
What does Blue Rock provide for the buffet?
Blue Rock provides all items needed for your chosen catering package. This includes china plates, silverware, linen napkins and all bar supplies.
What happens in case of rain?
Never fear! We are always able to pivot to a plan B when the weather throws a curve ball and the outdoor ceremony needs to be moved inside.
What time will the venue be available for day of decorating?
For weddings, our doors open at 8am. For all other events the doors will open at pre-arranged time based on the contracted time.
Do you include a wedding day coordinator?
The day of coordinator does not come included. However, we do have the option to add one on for $1,000. The day of coordinator will be in charge of decorating with all your decor the day before the wedding. They will act as the vendor point of contact the day of the event, assist in following the timeline, and schedule an in depth meeting one month prior to discuss timeline, vendor information, and decoration details.
Do you have preferred vendors?
Sioux Falls is lucky to have fantastic vendors for all things wedding! We are happy to have a conversation with you about who we have worked with in the past, otherwise you are welcomed to choose any insured vendor.
Can vehicles be left overnight?
Of Course! We highly encourage getting a safe ride home and if this means leaving your car overnight then we support it.
What time does music need to end?
We require everyone (including your DJ) to be out of the space by midnight. Please note that there is a fee for going past midnight so please plan accordingly.
Are candles allowed?
Absolutely! Although they do need to be contained in a glass cylinder or votive. The cylinder must be taller than the flame.
When do you need the final guest count?
We need the final guest count 2 weeks prior to the wedding day.
What kind of options do we have for bar?
We are quite flexible with how our guests choose to have their bar. We are able to have a hosted bar, non-hosted bar, drink tickets, or bridal party only (based on boutonniere and corsage or however bride and groom choose to identify bridal party).
What is included with the bar?
We serve beer, wine, and liquor drinks. Please refer to our beverage menu for our full list of alcohol.
Are outside snacks permitted during the day and for cocktail hour?
If it’s something that Blue Rock cannot provide we do allow outside snacks (Candy, mixed nuts, etc.) However, we do not allow popcorn or chips.
Can we nail decorations or use any Command Strips?
No, under no circumstances do we allow anything to be hung, taped, or tacked to the walls.
Is there a food minimum?
Yes, your event coordinator will walk you thru this.
Is AV included and if so, what is offered?
We offer Five 89” TVs, a projector, a 180” drop-down Screen, and an in-house PA system with handheld and wireless microphones. Stage is NOT included.
Is there room for any breakout meetings?
Yes we have one conference room with a 70” TV monitor and a conference table that seats 8-10 people.
May I provide a gratuity after the event?
A service charge is automatically added to your event for food services. If you choose to show your gratitude towards the bartenders, you are welcomed to on your bar tab at the event.
